A strong civil rights protest:
Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood with their heads bowed and a black-gloved hand raised as the American Anthem played to represent black poverty in usA.
Peter Norman from Australia wears an Olympic Project for Human Rights badges. He expressed sympathy with their ideals and the respect for aboroginal australians people.
Tommie Smith said after: "If I win, I am American, not a black American. But if I did something bad, then they would say I am a Negro. We are black and we are proud of being black. Black America will understand what we did tonight."
2010...nothing change... No More racism!!! Please! Equality!!! Peace!
Only one country: The Earth....Only one people: The Human. ArrAAAh! Civil disobedience is a good way!
Peter George Norman (1942 – October 3, 2006....R.I.P)
John Wesley Carlos (1945)
Tommie Smith (1944)
